統派男子胡大剛24日持甩棍毆打台大學生，中華統一促進黨今（25）日召開記者會說明衝突事件，胡大剛也現身指稱「甩棍是在現場撿到的」，強調自己並非預謀，引起網友熱烈討論，並將台北正式更名為「甩棍之都」。

胡大剛接著說，後來他看到跟他一同前往會場的楊男，被「台獨機關槍」李柏璋毆打，周圍還有群眾上前鼓譟，他在不得已下才持棍替楊男解圍，導致學生濺血，胡大剛強調自己非預謀打人。
